Limiter: how to prevent clipping.Built-in protection for loud tracks
The limiter is a built-in VibeDeck Player feature (Premium). It catches the loudest peaks of a track before they clip, so even hot masters play clean on your iPhone or Android phone, at any volume, with no harsh distortion.
Clipping happens when a signal is louder than the device can reproduce: the peaks get cut off and the sound turns harsh. Some tracks are mastered hot and clip as soon as you raise the volume. The limiter gently pulls the peaks back so the track stays clean without you touching the volume.

Limiter: FAQ
What is a limiter?
A limiter is a safety ceiling for volume: it keeps the loudest peaks of a track below what your device can play, so nothing clips or distorts.
Does the limiter change how music sounds?
It does not change the character of the mix. Only the loudest peaks are tamed; quiet and mid-level parts are left untouched.
Is the limiter a Premium feature?
Yes. The limiter is part of VibeDeck Premium, which unlocks the full sound engine on iPhone, iPad and Android.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The limiter is built into VibeDeck Player on both platforms.
Will my music be quieter with the limiter on?
Only the peaks are reduced, so your overall listening level stays the same. Hot tracks actually sound smoother at high volume.
